Pile of Dust

Dust In Your Home Can Affect Your Health

I learned an important lesson about indoor air quality in my home. A lot of us take for granted that the air we are breathing is okay until we start dealing with allergies, breathing problems, constant fatigue, or getting sick more often. That is why it is so important to keep up with routine maintenance in different areas of your home. Vacuum on a regular basis to remove dust and dirt from your carpet, and yes, vacuum your furniture as well at least once a month.

Regular steam cleaning of your carpet and furniture is also important. Do not wait until everything looks dirty. Pets can add significantly to the dust and allergens brought into the home. For your air conditioning system, schedule routine maintenance on your unit and make sure the filter is changed regularly. The coil should be clean and free of mold. Also, make sure the humidity level in your home does not go much over 50 percent RH. Anything over 60 percent can create conditions where mold can grow.

Air duct cleaning can be very beneficial when it is done by the right contractor. It is usually better to use a company that handles both A/C work and duct cleaning, since they will have more knowledge of how your A/C system works as a whole.

If you have any questions or need service, call us for your cleaning needs. If you need duct cleaning, A/C work, or indoor air quality testing, call us and we can point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your time.
